Shelter Cove Vacation Rentals in Shelter Cove, California
The remote town of Shelter Cove has excellent vacation rentals to choose from. Lower Pacific Drive is the waterfront road and the rental homes along that road are the most desirable and most expensive. Better prices can be found inland a few blocks and if you have a car, it’s a very short drive down to Black Sands Beach and the parks along the waterfront including Mal Coombs Park where the old Cape Mendocino Lighthouse sits and Abalone Point where visitors can explore the rocky bluffs and watch sea lions from a safe distance. It’s a long drive to Shelter Cove from Highway 101 between Fort Bragg and Humboldt Bay, but it’s worth the effort if you book a vacation rental and stay several days. Note that addresses in Shelter Cove are in Whitethorn, a small town on the way to the coast.
