The Georgian Hotel

The Georgian Hotel is an Art Deco boutique property built in 1933. It is across the street from the Santa Monica State Beach, historic Santa Monica Pier with its Pacific Park Fun Zone, and 3rd Street Promenade claiming 100% ocean view rooms and the convenience of shopping, nightlife and superb dining.

For those who are into stargazing, every time we’ve visited Santa Monica and sat at a sidewalk cafe, we’ve spotted celebrities coming and going from shops, or walking along the Promenade. It just takes a little patience. Back in its heyday, The Georgian Hotel was Hollywood’s best friend. A patient onlooker could spot Clark Gable savoring a martini or Carole Lombard listening to the strains of jazz on the ocean-facing veranda. During prohibition, the hotel was a “speakeasy” for famous celebrities and infamous characters. The Red Griffin room in the hotel’s basement is reportedly haunted with celebrity ghosts. Their pictures hang on the red flocked wallpaper walls above the wall-to-wall red leather banquettes. In addition to offering modern luxury, the hotel retains its charm with a beautiful front porch to sit as the celebrities once did and sip martinis or cocktails.

Across the street are towering palm trees and the shimmering Pacific Ocean. Santa Monica offers Los Angeles’ nearest beach playground where celebrities and tourists find the most hotel rooms, greatest variety of amenities and superb dining and entertainment, all possible and preferable by parking the car and walking.
