About Mothers Beach in Long Beach, California

Mother’s Beach is in the Long Beach neighborhood of Naples on an island in the middle of Alamitos Bay. Marine Park where Mothers Beach is located is popular with local families using the protected swimming area, a large kids playground, sand toys, grass lawns, a concessions stand, and picnic facilities.

Lifeguards are staffed during busy times to watch over the kids on Mothers Beach. The Marine Park Lifeguard Station building with restrooms is located at the north end of the beach. Near the lifeguard station you’ll find Mom’s Beach House a food window that has drinks and snacks and serves breakfast and lunch (open weekends only). Several outrigger canoe clubs occupy the south end of the beach.

This northeast facing beach is broad and flat and has room enough for many families. Kayakers and stand-up paddleboarders can start at Mothers Beach and paddle in several directions to explore all of Alamitos Bay including Marine Stadium, Los Cerritos Channel, and the loop around Naples Island.

The parking lot for Mothers Beach has an entrance on Appian Way at Attica Drive. It can fill up on sunny days so get there early.
