Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum in Malibu, California
Adamson House is located between Surfrider Beach and Malibu Lagoon State Beach. What a great location for a beach house. The Adamson/Rindge family selected this site from a 20 miles stretch for their beach house which was completed in 1929. The house is Spanish and Moorish influenced with extensive colorful tilework (they owned a tile factory), frescoes, leaded windows, ironwork, and unique light fixtures. It has been well-maintained and unchanged from it’s original glory. The garden is beautiful too. Guided tours of the house and garden are offered weekly – see the website for hours. The grounds are open to the public daily. The Malibu Lagoon Museum is adjacent to the house and is included in the entrance fee. Adamson House is designated a National Historic Site and a California State Historic Landmark. Learn more at the state park website.
