Cannery Row

On Cannery Row in the daytime you can view people walking between the Monterey Plaza Hotel and the Cannery Row shops. At night there’s a scent of the ocean, some bright lights and an intimate feel that allows you to imagine how this former sardine cannery complex must have felt when operating decades ago.

For those who just want to play tourist, you can dine at a dozen or more restaurants, shops at the gifts stores and boutiques that mostly feature touristy items or go to the outlet mall with lots of choice stores, have a cocktail with a view of the bay at one of the bars overlooking the water, take photos and even spend the night by reserving a hotel room right on the bay.
