About Del Mar Horse Racetrack in Del Mar, California
Del Mar Horse Racetrack is located 20 miles north of downtown San Diego near the beach in Del Mar and is surrounded by cities Solana Beach and San Diego’s La Jolla area. The famous Del Mar Racetrack attracts visitors who come to enjoy sports and recreation near the ocean. The first tickets were collected on opening day in 1937. Since then it has become one of the worlds most famous race tracks. The grounds that surround the track itself are the home of the Del Mar Fair which is usually the event right before racing season begins. From mid June through mid September there is quite a bit going on at the fair grounds.
