About Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach, California

Manhattan Beach Pier is a real gem to photograph as it has a photogenic red-roofed roundhouse at the end of it and turquoise colored steel railings running the length of it. Palm trees line the parking lot at the start of the pier to complete the scene. At 928 feet long, it is not long by California standards, but this sturdy concrete bridge has been standing since the 1920’s making it the oldest concrete pier on the west coast. In the 1990’s it was renovated to save it and restore it’s original appearance. Manhattan County Beach is one of the most popular on Santa Monica Bay, so there is a lot of activity on and near the pier. Other amenities draw visitors to this area. Many shops and restaurants can be found at the pier entrance, volleyball courts dot the sand nearby, and the roundhouse houses an aquarium with free admission. Manhattan Beach Pier is located at the western end of Manhattan Beach Blvd in Manhattan Beach, CA.
