Calumet Park is a small neighborhood park in south La Jolla on Calumet Avenue just south of Midway Street. The beach below Calumet Park is rocky and lacks a nice safe stairway providing access. Instead there is a dirt trail that drops down from the north end of the grass park to the beach below. At low tide it is worth exploring here because you can walk north and south below homes on the crumbling bluff. Even if you get here at high tide when beach exploration is limited, the park is a great place to rest and look out over the ocean.
