About Carlsbad City Beach in Carlsbad, California

Carlsbad City Beach, as it is known, is actually state property within Carlsbad State Park. This beach is located along Ocean Street with many different stairway accesses to the beach. Public access is provided by the city at Carlsbad Village Drive, Grand Avenue, Christiansen Way, Beech Avenue, and the north end of Ocean Street at Rue des Chateaux. Park anywhere along Ocean Street and walk to the nearest beach entrance. There are rules against board surfing between May and October so head to Tamarack Surf Beach south of here during those months.
