About Channel View Park Beach in Oxnard, California

Channel View Park is a small park at the south end of Hollywood Beach in Oxnard, CA. The park and the beach are on the north side of the entrance to Channel Islands Harbor. The beach adjacent to the harbor entrance near the park has volleyball nets set up and lots of sand to lay out on. Behind the beach are dunes that are partially fenced to protect a natural habitat for the western snowy plover and least tern birds that nest here. A breakwater in front of the harbor entrance also protects the beach near Channel View Park. This makes it a safer place to swim but a poor place to surf.

To get to Channel View Park, just head south on Ocean Drive or Harbor Boulevard to the end at the channel. There is a parking lot and street parking nearby. Despite the name, there isn’t much of a park here – it’s really just a parking area with some benches for viewing boats and ships passing in and out of the harbor.
