Christmas Tree Cove is a rocky cove that straddles the border of Rancho Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates, CA. The cove doesn’t have a sandy beach, but it does have a remote feeling shoreline that is worth exploring.
This spot is mostly a scuba diving and snorkeling destination, however beachcombers and adventurous souls can come down here to explore around. Tide pools can be seen at low tide south of the cove.
The trail down is quite steep and should only be attempted with good shoes and light loads. That said, scuba divers carry cumbersome tanks down to this spot regularly. This bluff and the trail are known to erode so be very careful if you decide to go down.
You’ll find the start of the trail at the intersection of Paseo Del Mar and Via Neve. Street parking is available.
