About Davenport Landing Beach in Davenport, California
Davenport Landing Beach is a short drive from Highway 1 on Davenport Landing Road just north of Davenport, CA. Parking spots can be found along this loop road next to the restrooms and short trails that lead to the beach. The beach is sandy and wide with rock walls capping the ends of the cove. A few homes and other structures are found at the back of this beach so it doesn’t have that remote feel, but it’s a nice beach and not that busy except on sunny summer weekends. Tide pools can be found at the north end and far south end of the beach beyond the spot where Agua Puera Creek is channeled in a concrete trough across the sand. Windsurfing is popular on windy days and surfing happens here on the lighter wind days.

It’s an excellent place to contemplate nature and watch the surf and even go into the water.
Would be grateful to know in whose honour the bench called “Riva’s Bench” (2010-2023) has been erected and if I could get in touch with the family for whom I wrote a poem for Riva.
Pls get back.
