About Eddie White Beach at Westport Headlands in Westport, California

Westport Headlands Park is a nine acre public open-space right in the town of Westport along the Mendocino Coast. The beach below the park is locally known as Eddie White Beach. Access to the beach requires a short walk across the park from Omega Drive to a wooden stairway that leads down to the gray sandy cove. At lower tides you can venture north to more city beaches tucked below the headlands. Also at low tide a narrow rock arch can be found at the south end of the beach. There are many rocks offshore in the crashing waves that make this a picturesque spot. Sea kayakers and fishermen use this beach regularly when conditions allow. There is one handicapped parking spot at the bend in Omega Drive and there is street parking nearby for all other cars. Westport General Store across Highway 1 from the beach parking area.
