About Horseshoe Cove Beach in Bodega Bay, California

Horseshoe Cove is a stunning deep cove on Bodega Head near Bodega Bay, CA. The cove has a sandy crescent-shaped beach at the back of it and clear water that makes it a great scuba diving location. Unfortunately the cove and beach are off-limits to the general public, but they can be accessed by staff and students of the University of California Davis Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML) which is located on the bluff above. Public tours of the BML facility are available usually one day per week in the afternoon. Visit their website for days and hours of these docent led tours. Horseshoe Cove is part of the Bodega Head State Marine Reserve. The Bodega Head Beach parking lot is located a short drive away at the end of the Westshore Road. There you can check out a wild beach and go hiking around the headlands. Campbell Cove Beach is on the calm shore of Bodega Bay on the way to Bodega Head Beach.
