Jefferson Way Beach Access in Fort Bragg, California
This is a little-known state-provided beach access from the end of Jefferson Way in Fort Bragg. The beach here is in a deep cove that is separated by a huge promontory poking out into the surf that separates it into two beautiful beaches. The southern beach is closer to the parking spaces at the end of Jefferson Way. Access is via a rough, but relatively easy path that drops down to the sand at the back of the beach. The northern beach is harder to get to from Jefferson Way. There is a steep scramble route down to that beach, but it’s not easy, especially when wet. A wooden fence on private property behind the north beach makes it difficult to get over to the easy main access. If you want to see the north beach in this cove, drive a short distance north to the Ocean Drive Beach Access. These beaches are local gems that few tourists ever see. To get here, turn west onto Jefferson Way from Shoreline Highway (Hwy1) about three miles south of the Noyo River Bridge in Fort Bragg. Shoulder parking spaces are provided near the end of this dead end road.
