Ocean Drive Beach Access in Fort Bragg, California
Ocean Drive Beach Access is a state-provided coastal access just south of Fort Bragg. This is a stunning sandy beach in a deep cove surrounded by a rocky bluffs. Other than locals, few people ever see this hidden gem. The cove has two similar beaches separated by a promontory jutting out into the surf. The southern beach, however is difficult to access from here. To find the Ocean Drive Beach Access, turn west off Highway 1 onto Ocean Drive south of Fort Bragg and immediately look on the left for a small parking area next to a wooden fence with typical brown state parks department signage. The turn-off is clearly signed for Pine Beach Inn. From the parking area, hike through the trees toward the ocean. After breaking out of the trees, turn left and follow the path along the bluff’s edge to a safe beach access at the back of the beach. If you want to visit the southern beach, drive just a short distance south on Highway 1 to the Jefferson Way Beach Access. If you want to visit Pine Beach, it’s just a short walk away from the Ocean Drive Beach Access.
