About Kelham Beach in Point Reyes Station, California

Kelham Beach is a secluded beach in Point Reyes National Seashore. It requires a five mile trek from the Bear Valley Visitor Center to get here. The best route is to hike the beautiful Bear Valley Trail to the Coast Trail then venture out to Arch Rock. In early 2015 the arch collapsed, but the view from the bluff there is stunning. Then hike the Coast Trail north and look for signs pointing to Kelham Beach. Keep in mind that there is no camping here so this must be done in a long day-hike. Part of the Bear Valley Trail can be mountain biked if you want to speed up the round-trip access. Either way, get an early start in the day to enjoy all of Kelham Beach. To see the arch site from the beach walk south from Kelham for just over a half-mile at low tide. Walking north on Kelham Beach takes you to a beautiful spot at Point Resistance which is also best at lower tides.
