About Pirates Cove Beach in Muir Beach, California

Pirates Cove Beach is a small, hard to reach beach along the Marin County coastline south of the Muir Beach community. Like many of the beaches in the Marin area, Pirate’s Cove is much bigger at low tide (but it’s never a big beach and can be all covered at high tide). It’s only accessible as a hike via the Coastal Trail from Muir Beach or from the Tennessee Valley Trailhead, but the Muir route is shorter. Be sure to check a tide chart ahead of time to make sure there is some dry sand when you get there.
