About Seaside Beach in Fort Bragg, California
Seaside Beach is just north of MacKerricher State Park where Seaside Creek sometimes flows through the sand to the ocean. A rock sticks up out of the sand at the back of the beach and can be climbed for a unique vantage point. More rocks stand tall in the surf throughout the cove. At the south end of the beach is Ten Mile River which usually cuts a sizable path through the beach. On the other side of the river mouth is Ten Mile Beach a four mile long beach and dunes preserve that is great for beachcombing. If you are here at lower tides and want to discover a Hidden Beach, just walk to the north end of Seaside Beach and look for natural rock tunnel leading to a stunning beach on the other side. Another rock arch called Whale Rock Arch can be seen if you walk south on Seaside Beach toward the river mouth.
Parking for Seaside Beach is unfortunately limited to about 8-10 cars presently. This small lot can be found along Highway 1 about a mile north of the bridge over Ten Mile River and about nine miles north of Fort Bragg.
