Terramar Beach is the narrow beach in front of the Carlsbad California community of Terramar. Technically this beach is part of South Carlsbad State Beach, but there are no signs indicating such. The entrance at the center of the beach has a locked gate that is only for the home owners and guests of Terramar to use. The general public can get here by walking south from Warm Water Jetty Beach or from a public stair on Carlsbad Boulevard at Cerezo Drive. Terramar Beach is quite narrow and often is completely covered in waves, but that doesn’t bother the surfers that have discovered this great surfing spot. At low tide this is an excellent tidepooling spot nicknamed the Carlsbad Tide Pools.
