About Trinidad State Beach in Trinidad, California
Trinidad State Beach is on the waterfront in the small Humboldt County town of Trinidad. Two sandy beaches fill the gap between Trinidad Head and Elk Head in this park on the west side of town. Pewetole Island, a huge rock near shore, divides Trinidad State Beach into two coves. This is a great place to be for sunset photos.
The main beach in the south cove has access from three parking lots. Going west on Edwards Street and dropping down to the left leads to a large parking lot on the beach (this road also goes to the boat launch on Trinidad Bay). Another lot can also be found on Ewing St. but this small lot requires hiking down from the bluff. The third lot is found immediately on the left after turning onto Stagecoach Road. This lot has picnic tables and a view, but it’s another bluff hike to reach the sand from there.
The north beach of the park is called College Cove and it has a separate parking lot and trailhead farther down Stagecoach Road.
Be careful while exploring the central portion of Trinidad State Beach as the rising tide can trap you against the cliffs.
Trinidad Head offers a great hiking opportunity to the summit, a lighthouse, and excellent viewpoints.

Trinidad is such a beautiful area, and this beach is one of its most beautiful. Interesting rock formations and the sunset did not disappoint. I will return someday.
