About Virgin Creek Beach in Fort Bragg, California
Virgin Creek Beach is sandy shoreline tucked away in the middle of MacKerricher State Park. It’s only reachable by trails. There is a narrow public land corridor with a trail to the beach from Highway 1. This parking area and trailhead is located across from the address 22991 N Hwy 1 in Fort Bragg. Where the trail hits the beach you can walk to the left which leads to the widest part of the beach near the creek mouth, or explore to the right where the beach is more narrow below the bluff. The Haul Road Trail behind the beach takes walkers and bikers north to MacKerricher Main Beach and south to Pudding Creek Beach. It’s possible to walk to Virgin Creek Beach from these nearby beaches which are about one mile away. Virgin Creek Beach is usually less crowded than the other beaches in the state park.
