About Anacapa Island – Frenchys Cove in Oxnard, California

Frenchy’s Cove is a small beach and tidepools area on the western islet of Anacapa Island. On the other end of the island is East Isle which popular for hiking.

All three of the small islands that make up Anacapa Island are part of Channel Islands National Park and they are located about 12 miles offshore from Oxnard in Ventura County.

The main reason to book a day trip to Frenchys Cove is for the excellent tide pools. The boat that stops at Frenchys uses an inflatable boat to get visitors to the shore. From there it’s a short hike over to the south shore where the tide pool area is.

The National Park office is in Ventura, but most of the boats to Anacapa Island depart from the Island Packers Cruise Terminal at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard.
