About Arena Cove Beach in Point Arena, California

Arena Cove Beach is the main beach in the Mendocino County town of Point Arena. The cove isn’t really known for its beach since there isn’t a lot of beach per se. The shore is quite rocky and at high tide there is no safe place to explore below the cliffs. The Point Arena Pier is the highlight of this cove. Boaters, fishermen, scuba divers, and expert surfers enjoy the cove the most. The pier has fish cleaning stations, restrooms, and showers in addition to a boat hoist for dropping boats into the bay when the weather allows. Next to the pier is a restaurant and coffee shop.

From Highway 1 in Point Arena turn west onto Iverson Avenue and follow it to the end at the pier. There is a large parking area near the pier. Consult tide charts if you want to explore the tide pools at low tide. The nearest easy-access sandy beaches are Schooner Gulch to the south and Manchester State Park to the north.
