About Duxbury Reef Tide Pools in Bolinas, California

Duxbury Reef is the southernmost part of Point Reyes Peninsula in Marin County. Access to the reef is from Agate Beach County Park in the town of Bolinas, CA. This reef is a long shallow rocky area that extends out from Duxbury Point which has blufftop hiking trails for viewing the area including the reef. The reef is only accessible at low tide so consult tide charts and the weather forecast to plan your trip.

A trip to Duxbury Reef is a marine wildlife extravaganza. This spot is one of the top tidepooling areas in the state of California. After the ocean recedes, tide pools teaming with waterborne creatures are the main attraction. It’s a great experience for kids and families.
