About Angel Island State Park – Quarry Beach in Tiburon, California

Quarry Beach is located on the east side of Angel Island State Park on San Francisco Bay near Tiburon. This narrow sandy beach is near Fort McDowell about a 1/3 mile south of the historic United States Immigration Station. The Fort and the Immigration Station are both worth visiting. There is a dirt fire road and a paved road that loops around the perimeter of the island for cyclists to enjoy. There are also interior trails for hikers that ascend to the summit of Mount Livermore at 788 feet above San Francisco Bay. The Island has a cafe and a restaurant that are open seasonally on nice days. Bikes are seasonally available for rent and guided tours to the historical sites of Angel Island are available through the Angel Island Company. There are picnic facilities nearby and a tent camp site up the hill from Quarry Beach. Angel Island State Park can be reached via the Tiburon Angel Island Ferry or the San Francisco Angel Island Ferry. Check the ferry schedule ahead of time as departures vary throughout the year.
