About Cress Street Beach in Laguna Beach, California
Cress Street Beach is a secluded little beach at the end of Cress Street in Laguna Beach, California. When the tide isn’t high this is a quiet place to lay in the sun – that is if you can get a spot.
A stair leads down to a small sandy cove with homes above it on the bluff. A large natural rock wall to the north and steep bluffs create a sandy pocket beach to enjoy. Offshore there are several rocks that waves crash upon. The largest of these rocks is officially named Halfway Rock.
South of Cress Street is Mountain Road Beach, and if you climb over the rocks to the north you’ll walk in front of homes on Brooks Street Beach and can continue to walk in that direction for about three-quarters of a mile to Main Beach. This area of Laguna Beach is designed for beach walking (best to avoid high tide though).
Cress Street Beach is known to have a strong rip current frequently so be very careful if playing in the surf and only swim if you are strong and know what to do when caught in a rip.
