About Hobson Beach in Ventura, California

Hobson Beach is located south of the private gated Seacliff Beach Colony in Ventura County. At high tide there will be little if no dry sand at Hobson Beach. The county operates a campground at the beach which has about fifteen free public day-use parking spots. Surfers will get here early and take these spots if the conditions are favorable. Unfortunately there are no street parking spaces along the highway outside the campground.

If you want to camp here, it’s open to tents and RV’s, but they don’t take reservations in the summer so it’s first come, first served. South of Hobson Beach is the linear campground along Pacific Coast Highway called Rincon Parkway Park, and farther south is Faria Beach Park which has camp spots too.

Getting to Hobson Beach Park is simple as taking exit 78 off Highway 101 then heading south on Highway 1 (PCH) for a little less than a mile.
