Huntington Dog Beach is a dog-friendly strand at the northern end of Huntington Beach City Beach. In addition to an off-leash beach, this is a popular surf spot and it has a multi-use trail for biking and walking.

The zone where dogs are allowed on the beach is located between Seapoint Street and 21st Street. Dog Beach is considered an off-leash beach by locals, but signs indicate that the city ordinance requires a 6-foot leash. This leash rule is most important between your vehicle and the beach where there is danger near the trail and the busy highway. The bottom line is that only unruly or dangerous dogs would likely be cited once they are on the beach. North of Seapoint Street is Bolsa Chica State Beach where dogs are not allowed.

There are several linear parking lots above the eroding bluff along this stretch off Pacific Coast Highway. Restrooms and lifeguard towers are spaced out a long the beach.

The Huntington Beach Bike Trail runs in both directions on the bluff for miles of leashed dog walking, cycling, and running.

The Park Bench Café is a dog-friendly restaurant located 2.8 miles up Goldenwest Street from HB Dog Beach. Huntington Central Park Dog Park is also nearby on Edwards Street.
