Oceanside Pier View North Beach

Oceanside’s Pier View North Beach is a popular sandy beach north of Oceanside Municipal Fishing Pier. The beach on this side of the pier is a little less crowded than the south side of the pier. Pier View North is a wider and longer beach so there is more room to spread out for those who want to sunbathe.

The fishing pier’s wooden platform makes a pleasant stroll of about one-third mile each way. Views from the pier include the entire Oceanside waterfront from Oceanside Harbor down to Carlsbad. You’ll probably see surfers riding waves near the pier too. There used to be a Ruby’s Restaurant at the end of the pier, but it closed down in recent years.

“The Strand” is another option for stretching your legs. This long narrow street has palm trees and a sidewalk that runs right behind Pier View North and Pier View South Beach.

From the beach it’s just a short walk into downtown Oceanside where you can find many restaurants. Next to the pier there is an ice cream shop, an Italian bistro coffee shop, and Tin Fish, a seafood restaurant.

As for parking, there are pay lots directly behind the beach, but if they fill up, you’ll find more spaces along N Pacific St. The best way to reach these beach lots are by heading west on Surfrider Way then turn left onto The Strand.
