Tyson Street Beach

Tyson Street Beach in Oceanside is in front of Tyson Street Park just south of the Oceanside Pier. Tyson Street Beach is where the beaches start to widen. South of here the beaches are so narrow that at high tide they might be completely under water. From Tyson Beach the pier is hard not to notice. It’s just a short walk up The Strand and the pier sticks out into the ocean about a quarter-mile from shore. Tyson Street Park is a small grassy spot below a crumbling bluff with palm trees scattered around the grounds. A wooden stair leads down from Pacific Street to the park. Between Tyson Street Park and the pier the beach is known as Pier View South Beach and on the other side of the pier its called Pier View North Beach.
