Pinnacle Gulch Beach

Pinnacle Gulch Beach is a hidden beach at the bottom of Pinnacle Gulch in the Bodega Harbor housing community in Bodega Bay.

To get there you’ll hike a wide mile-long trail that begins across the road from the parking lot. After hiking downhill to the beach you’ll discover it is narrow so avoid hide tide on your visit.

At lower tides there are tide pools to discover especially on the south end of the cove. Unique large rocks are on the beach and out in the surf making this a picturesque spot especially at sunset. Sea birds abound as well.

There is a wider beach to the south in a semicircular cove with high bluffs if you are looking for more sand. Over some large boulders there is one more beach farther south at the end of Shorttail Gulch where another trail heads back up to the neighborhood above making a loop hike of about 2.5 miles possible.

To get to the Pinnacle Gulch parking lot you’ll drive past homes and a golf course in Bodega Harbor where the public is welcomed. Drive the Heron Drive loop road to Mockingbird Road then follow it a short distance to the lot on the left. A fee is required for parking here. The coastal access trail begins across the street from this lot.
