About Pistachio Beach in Pescadero, California

Pistachio Beach is a sandy beach located on state property just north of Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park. The creek from Yankee Jim Gulch flows into the sand at the north end of the beach. At low tides you can explore in both directions on sand and rocks. Parking can be found along the edge of Highway 1 just north of the Pigeon Point Road loop northern entrance. There are also a few wide spots along the loop road where cars can fit out of the right of way. A short trail descends to the beach from Pigeon Point Road near the intersection. A farm with a barn and cows is above the beach on the north end. The lighthouse is visible to the south. State park rules apply here including no fires, no camping, and observing the posted hours of access to the beach. Dogs are allowed on leash at Pistachio Beach.
