About Laguna Point at MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg, California

The Seal Watching Station on Laguna Point in MacKerricher State Park has several viewing platforms for seal and whale watching during their appropriate seasons. These vantage points are worth the effort just for watching waves crash on the rocks below. It requires a short trek on accessible boardwalk trails to get out to these platforms. The beach at this part of MacKerricher State Park is not big, but at low tide the point exposes tide pools for exploration. MacKerricher Main Beach is next to the parking lot so you can get your sandy beach fix there before or after walking out to the point. To get to Laguna Point, turn off Highway 1 into the main park entrance on Mill Creek Road and follow it to the end near the Surfwood Campground. Check into the visitor center for info on camping, activities, and all the beaches within the state park.
