The Big Sur Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This rustic old lodge hasn’t changed a lot since the 1930s when they began hosting travelers on California’s Big Sur Coast. The buildings still have their old charm and the grounds are still lush and beautiful. Inside the rooms are cozy and classy. Relax in the charming indoor rooms or sit outside and listen to the waterfall behind the inn. Deetjen’s Restaurant is on site and many others are nearby. Deetjens is located on the east side of Highway 1 just south of Big Sur Station. Pfeiffer Beach is nearby and Partington Cove is a fun place to explore as well (trails but no sandy beach there).
