About Martine Inn in Pacific Grove, California

Perched atop a hill overlooking some of the most scenic, romantic coastline in California, sits The Martine Inn, elegance in accommodations. If you seek a location near the oceanfront filled with walkways, twisted pines and craggy rock formations, then you’re in for a special vacation or getaway.

Pacific Grove is intimate, cozy and extremely comfortable. Less known than its neighbors that surround it (Pebble Beach and Monterey), Pacific Grove offers great bed and breakfast hotels, inns and privately owned hotel properties in neighborhoods you won’t believe. Tucked among cottages and fine homes, places such as The Martine Inn offer opportunities for great strolls, golf, coastal drives and the usual attractions this area is known for such as Monterey Bay Aquarium and the surrounding shops and restaurants.

The Martine Inn, a beautifully-appointed mansion built in 1899, overlooks the rocky coastline of the Monterey Bay. Careful attention in restoring the house includes fine Victorian details, original mahogany and oak trim accented with inlaid oak and mahogany flooring. Furnishings have been carefully selected for each room to fit the style, size and ambiance of that room. Most of the furnishings are museum quality with preference for American antiques from 1800 through 1890. The entire process of the design, furnishing, decorating and services recreates the turn of the century experience this mansion once knew.
