The beach may be a place to go for rest and relaxation, but it’s also a place to go for fun. Spring is an exciting season on the California Coast—the weather gets nicer, the Spring Break crowds start to line the sidewalks, and a host of events are set to entertain locals and visitors alike. If you’re planning a trip to the coast this season, here are a few events you may want to add to your calendar.

The Big Sur Marathon is considered one of the most scenic running events in the country. If you’re up for a challenge, it’s a great way to indulge in some post-marathon treats (and massages) guilt-free. But even if you’re not a distance runner, this is a fun time to visit Big Sur since you can cheer on the marathon runners while enjoying the live music and other accompanying events.
