About Agate Street Beach in Laguna Beach, California

Agate Street Beach is between Pearl Street Beach and Bluebird Beach in Laguna Beach, CA. These beach access points are close together so these beaches feel like one beach when you are standing on them. Actually they are part of a continuous sandy shoreline that runs from Pearl Street all the way north to Heisler Park.

Even though they are close together, the rules are different for each beach. For example, board surfing is not allowed at Pearl Street Beach, but at Agate Street Beach surfing is only restricted in the afternoons from mid-June through mid-September and open all other times.

These beaches have a different feel too. At Pearl the homes are right at beach level, but at Agate Street Beach the homes are up on the bluff and there are little sandy nooks to lay your towels in.

If the tide is out, it is worth walking south to the Keyhole (one of California’s best rock arches) at the end of Pearl Street Beach.

The access stairway begins at Agate Street and Ocean Way one block from Highway 1. Parking is available along the highway and Agate St.
