Belmont Shore Beach spans the waterfront of the Belmont Shore neighborhood in Long Beach, CA. Generally this beach is between the Belmont Pier area and 55th Place. South of 55th is the Peninsula Neighborhood and Peninsula Beach. North of the pier is Long Beach City Beach. The area around the Granada Boat Launch at Granada Avenue is called Granada Beach and is the location of Rosie’s Dog Beach, a small designated off-leash dog zone. Near the Belmont Pier are sand volleyball courts and running the length of the beach is a wide paved bike path. This path continues north all the way to the end of City Beach.
Belmont Veteran’s Memorial Pier (the official name) is worth exploring to check out the view. Waves typically don’t crash here because of the Long Beach breakwaters so surfing is rare, but swimming is common. Belmont Shore Beach has a large parking area at Bennett Avenue and street parking along Ocean Boulevard. The Belmont Pool shares the parking lot for the pier and is a public facility for swimming when the ocean is less-inviting.
