About Little Pico Creek Beach Access in San Simeon, California

Little Pico Creek Beach is part of the expansive Hearst San Simeon State Park along the northern San Luis Obispo County coastline. There are no signs to indicate the beach name or that it is part of the state park. About a mile and a half north of San Simeon there is a Highway 1 bridge over a creek. If you want to access the beach at the creek, then park along the highway shoulder just south of the bridge and walk past the fence where it ends at the bridge. It’s a bit of a scramble down the rocks to the sandy beach at the bottom. The beach is widest near the creek and the bridge, but there is more sand to explore south of here. A couple unmarked day-use parking areas are provided along the highway between San Simeon and Little Pico Creek. The beach is narrow along this stretch, but the irregular shoreline and rocks in the surf make it interesting enough to stop and investigate.
