Rancho Palos Verdes Beach is a beach below Trump National Golf Club and the Ocean Trails Reserve in Rancho Palos Verdes. This reserve includes what used to be known as Palos Verdes Shoreline Park and now surrounds the golf course property on three sides.
Hiking trails follow the bluff and provide access to about a mile and a half of rocky beach below. This remote beach is best for beachcombing and exploring tide pools at low tide. However at the north end below Founders Park there is a wider sandier beach. At this location there are two trails called the Sunrise and Sunset Trails that provide access down the steep bluff. Walking north on the beach from there leads to a private beach at Portuguese Bend Beach Club. At the base of the bluff near the private club beach there is an area of rock art on the ground that is worth visiting.
The public parking areas are at the end of La Rotonda Drive and at the Trump golf clubhouse on Ocean Trails Drive. Both public lots are inside the Trump National Golf Club entrances and both have public restrooms available. Follow walking paths from the parking lots to the bluff then look for trails to the beach. The park and trail are open to the public every day from an hour before sunrise to an hour after sunset.
