Sacred Cove Beach is part of Abalone Cove Shoreline Park in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes. This deep cove is bookended by two prominent points, Portuguese Point and Inspiration Point. Both points have trails on top that go out to their ends for excellent views of the Palos Verdes area, Catalina Island, migrating whales, and the adjacent coves. Some of the trails in the park are open to mountain bikes so consult the map if you want to ride here.
Access to Sacred Cove is via hiking trails from the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park parking lot on Palos Verdes Drive South. The city charges a fee to park there and has strict hours. Unfortunately it’s not a short walk from the parking lot to Sacred Cove. It’s possible to visit the cove by hiking the trails on the way there and then walking back via the road shoulder.
Sacred Cove Beach is mostly rocks, but there are a couple sandy areas. At low tide there are tide pools and incredible sea caves to see at the base of both points.
