About South Casa Beach in La Jolla, California

South Casa Beach is a small triangle-shaped cove just south of Children’s Pool Beach in La Jolla. Children’s Pool is also known as Casa Beach so this beach got the simple name South Casa. Both spots are served by the same lifeguard station to explain how close they are. It’s a popular snorkeling and scuba diving spot when conditions are calm and the visibility is good. Seals and sea lions can take over portions of the beach, but humans are usually allowed to enter the beach as long as the animals are not blocking the area at the bottom of the stairs. Stay away from the animals if they are present. If they are absent and you want to see some, just head over to Children’s Pool where they are usually hanging out. Parking can be found along Coast Boulevard and at the parking lot above the beach. Wipeout Beach is a larger beach just to the south if you can’t find enough sand to layout on at South Casa Beach.
