Tecolote Shores Park on Mission Bay

Tecolote Shores Park is on the east side of Mission Bay in San Diego. The park has large open grass fields surrounding two sandy pits with swings and other playground toys for kids. Unfortunately the park doesn’t have a lot of sandy beachfront. Most of the park has just a thin strip of sand between the water and the grass, but there is a wider sandy spot at the south end of the park. The paved Mission Bay Bike Path runs through the park making this a good spot to start a long run or a bike ride around the bay. Tecolote Shores Park is located at 1400 East Mission Bay Drive. The Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa is just north of the park as is Playa Pacifica Park. Lifeguards are usually on staff at Tecolote Shores during the summer months.
