Are you spending your Fourth of July on the California Coast this year? If so, you’re lucky – there’s really no better place to be on America’s birthday than a sunny, sandy beach or a charming coastal community.

We’ve rounded up some of your best options for Fourth of July fireworks displays in California’s beach towns. Enjoy!

Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

Spend your Independence Day at Fisherman’s Wharf and you’ll enjoy a free day of music, entertainment, and the City of San Francisco’s Fireworks Show. The show begins at 9:30 PM and is best viewed from Pier 39 or Aquatic Park Cove.

Eureka’s Fourth of July

Eureka’s Fourth of July festivities kick off on Main Street and include classic cars, kids’ activities, petting zoo, fire trucks, a bounce house, horse & carriage rides, and local vendors. Everything wraps up with a beautiful fireworks show over Humboldt Bay at 10 PM. The festivities are free, although donations are accepted.

 

Catalina Island Fireworks

Catalina Island‘s fireworks show will be on July 4th at 9 PM over the bay in the town of Avalon. You’ll find fun celebrations all over the island, like Carnival Games at Old Ben Park and a Golf Cart Parade down Crescent Avenue.

Marina del Rey Fireworks at Fisherman’s Village

Fisherman’s Village in Marina del Rey is a charming replica of a New England seaport and fishing town. Their waterfront fireworks display kicks off at 9 PM on July 4th.

San Clemente Pier

The San Clemente City Beach Pier will close on the morning of the 4th in preparation for the amazing evening fireworks show, which begins around 9 PM. You’ll be able to see the fireworks from every beach in the area.

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort

Resort is hosting an amazing Independence Day celebration in Newport Beach. Independence Day on the Bay costs $50 per car and includes music from some great tribute bands, food trucks and plenty of other entertainment. An additional $40 gets you access to the hosted bar and premier viewing spots for the fireworks, which begin at 9 PM.

Laguna Beach

If you’re spending Independence Day in Laguna Beach, head to Heisler Park for the 9 PM fireworks show. The fireworks show will originate from Monument Point, meaning that area will be closed all day.

Dana Point Fireworks Extravaganza

Enjoy a laid back holiday in Dana Point. that finishes off with a 9 PM fireworks show at Dana Point Harbor. If you’re worried about parking, just take one of the free shuttles that will be offered throughout town.

Ocean Beach, San Diego

On July 4th, get as close as possible to San Diego’s Ocean Beach Pier to catch the spectacular 9 PM fireworks show.

Coronado

Relax and unwind in Coronado on the 4th of July this year. Enjoy a free concert at 4 PM at Spreckels Park followed by a 9 PM fireworks display over Glorietta Bay.

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla’s fireworks show will be on July 4th at 9 PM at Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Throughout the afternoon and evening, you’ll see people coming to the park and claiming their spots. There are certainly worse places to have to wait – before the show begins, you’ll be treated to some of the best views in San Diego County.

Oceanside

If you’re in Oceanside, you can enjoy a party from 5-9:30 on July 3rd at the El Corazon Site at Rancho Del Oro Drive. Fireworks begin at dusk.
