Dog Friendly Beaches Santa Cruz
Dog owners who live in Santa Cruz or vacation in this fun-loving funky city are lucky to have several dog-friendly beaches to choose from. The rules at these beaches vary so visit the beach pages to learn more. For example, at Mitchell’s Cove dogs can be off leash before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m. and must be on leash the rest of the time. Its Beach, a popular dog beach, has a sign that says leashes are required at all times even though you’ll see dogs off-leash often.
All of the beaches on the map above and the list below are open to dogs as long as they are on a leash. Your pooch can roam free to play in the surf at a few of the beaches – luckily those beaches are all close to Santa Cruz. We list a few others that are farther afield, but the drive isn’t long.
