About Pearl Street Beach in Laguna Beach, California

Pearl Street Beach is located below a stairway that begins at the west end of Pearl Street in Laguna Beach. Pearl Street ends at Ocean Way just one block off South Coast Highway (Hwy 1).

Pearl Street Beach is a pleasant sandy west-facing beach with several homes built right down to the beach level. North of Pearl Street Beach those walking on the sand will find more beaches named for their street access points at Agate Steet, Bluebird Canyon Drive, Mountain Road, and more. Walking the beach in that direction leads as far as you want to go with Main Beach well over a mile from here.

At the south end of Pearl Street Beach there is a natural arch in the rock wall called the “Keyhole” that gives this beach the nickname Arch Cove or Arch Beach. At low tide you can walk through the arch to a rock shelf which leads over to Woods Cove Beach.

This is a great area to explore tide pools when the tide is out and the waves aren’t big. Look for those near the Arch Rock Point.

Surfing is prohibited at Pearl Street Beach but it is allowed just a few paces north at Agate Street Beach.

For parking, look for street spaces along South Coast Highway (Hwy 1) and on Ocean Way but be careful not to block any driveways.

This is a beautiful and interesting beach with tide pools, breaking surf, a gorgeous arch, and easy access.

Oh I love this beach! We were lucky to visit it at low tide and got to walk through the arch to Woods Cove Beach and explore the tide pools. Such a fun day!
