About Cooks Beach in Gualala, California

Cooks Beach is a beautiful sandy beach in a rock-walled cove just north of Gualala. The waves roll into the cove and crash on the smooth sandy beach sometimes pushing driftwood onshore. Water pools at the back of Cook’s Beach where Glennen Gulch Creek flows in.

The beach is accessed via the Bonham Trail which was set up in the early 2000’s through an easement dedication by the Bonham Family and the efforts of the Redwood Coast Land Conservancy.

There is a viewing platform above the beach and a safe graded trail from the street shoulder parking along County Road 526. Unfortunately there is only room for a few cars along CR-526.
