About Dockweiler State Beach RV Park in Los Angeles, California
Dockweiler State Beach is a popular long wide sandy beach near the LAX Airport in the Playa Del Rey area of Los Angeles. Inside the main state park entrance and just to the south (left turn) is a paved parking lot that is dedicated to RV campers. Tent camping is not allowed at this lot unfortunately, but the lack of grass makes it unappealing.
The campground has a typical Santa Monica Bay beach with lifeguards, a paved path on the beach for walking and biking. It even has fire pits for bonfires and hanging out on the sand in the evenings.
If you don’t intend to camp at Dockweiler State Beach there are day-use parking facilities too. Three parking lots are inside the main park entrance along the service road to the north (turn right). Another day-use lot is south on Vista Del Mar at the Dockweiler Bluff Parking Lot.
To get to the Dockweiler State Beach Campground, head west on Imperial Highway (west on I-105 from I-405) until it ends at Vista Del Mar where the state beach entrance can be found.
