Goff Cove Beach

Goff Cove Beach is a south-facing beach below the bluff that is west of the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, California.

Goff Cove is protected by a tall pyramid-shaped rock at the point called Goff Island. A breakwater and huge boulders have been installed between the island and the bluff which keeps the cove’s sand in place and allows the island to be connected to the shore. You might see people scrambling up onto Goff Island, but be careful if you try this as the surfaces are slippery in places. Accidents have happened and ascending it is not advised.

The small cove next to Goff that is closer to the resort is called Middle Man Cove and it requires walking over rocks from Goff Cove or from Treasure Island Beach in the other direction.

Access to Goff Cove is via a stairway from the paved walkway on the bluff or down the ramp at the end of the bluff. At the bottom of this ramp if you go left you are on Goff Cove Beach and if you go right you are on Christmas Cove Beach. Walking northward past Christmas Cove will put you onto Victoria Beach a much larger sandy beach that is known for its hidden yet picturesque Victorian Tower.

You’ll find street parking along Pacific Coast Highway (Hwy 1) and be able to walk through the Montage Resort grounds to get to Goff Cove Beach.
